RBI survey reveals that there has been a substantial increase in the use of ATMs in the city

A recent survey conducted by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) revealed that there has been a substantial increase in the use of Auto Teller Machines (ATMs) in Pune. 



"The regular ATM users have been estimated to be about 14 to 15 lakh out of the total population of around 50 lakh," informed Abhay Khinvasara, CEO of Axis Software. But Khinvasara added that the users still get perplexed while using ATM and spend much time while making transactions.

"The ATM users still worry and suspect whether they will get the correct amount of money they had asked for," he pointed out.

Talking about the benefits of the ATMs, Khinvasara said, "Now with the use of broadband connectivity, even loans can be applied and get approved through ATMs." Moreover, as the banking system has been undergoing a sea of changes, an account holder is not geographically restricted. "Now the accounts are truly universalised," he said.

He further added that with a boom in the use of ATMs by the Puneities, soon there would be ATMs all over, be it cafes, malls and multiplexes.
