I can’t believe that I won the Woman Of The Series award. That’s because I have never played cricket in my life. However, once I joined this team, I trained very hard for days on end. My husband, Indraneil Sengupta, coached me for this tournament.

I have been into sports since childhood and picked up the game pretty fast. My daughter, Meera was surprised to see me on the field as she’s only used to seeing her papa play cricket. However, she danced every time I hit a six.
She would give me cold stares every time a team mate would come and hug me, or put his arm around me during the match (laughs). Overall, it was a fabulous experience.
Indraneil’s still in a state of shock as he can’t believe how a non-cricketer can be adjudged as one of the players of the series.
