The accident took place at Ravet near Kivale Bridge. All those who got injured are workers of a Mumbai-based catering firm. Ram Gawade, one of the workers, said that they were going to Pune for a wedding. “While turning a turn at Kivale Bridge, the driver lost control of the vehicle. As soon as I jumped off the tempo, it turned turtle,” said Gawade, who sustained minor injuries.

Speaking to MiD DAY, CI Sonawane, PI of Highway Police, said that the accident took place due to careless driving. “No other vehicle was involved in the accident. The driver must have taken a sharp turn at a high speed.” Soon after the accident, Highway Police, along with 50 employees of IRB, reached the spot. “We reached here in 15 minutes and rushed the injured to the nearest private hospital. Also, we immediately cleared the road to avoid traffic jam,” said Sonawane.u00a0
