The registration for the Iranian presidency race has thrown up a 12-year-old boy, who says his platform would include stopping the killing of Gaza's children by Israel.

Local media reports said Koresh Mouzuni arrived at the election headquarters on Saturday with his father and dutifully answered questions about Israel and the Iranian nuclear programme.

Koresh seems to have been influenced by current President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad when it comes his views on Israel. When asked about the Jewish state, he reportedly replied, "I will buy Hawaii, (US President Barack) Obama's birthplace, from the US and lease it to Israelis who will go live there so that they don't kill the children in Gaza."

Koresh is one of 250 candidates who have taken the time to fill out the proper paperwork. He was also the only one to submit a written work plan as to his policies.

He said, "If my candidacy is approved I'll appoint Ahmadin-ejad as my first deputy" and promised not to appoint his father as a minister.

He noted that his voters were "all the mothers of children". But should his candidacy be disapproved, Koresh said, "I plan to start preparing for the next presidential elections."

Meanwhile, Ahmadinejad himself filed his candidacy on Friday and said he was "filled with hope" as to his chances to be reelected.
