If it's Hindustani classical music that's your interest, Mumbai has institutes across the city the Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan at Chowpatty, Bharatiya Sangeet Vidyalaya at Sion, the Chembur Fine Arts Society, the Sangeet Mahabharti at JVPD, and Vyas Sangeet Vidya Mandir at Vile Parle amongst others.u00a0

For rock n roll/jazz buffs there's the PG Garodia Conservatoire with some of the best drummers from this generation - Gino Banks, Jai Row Kavi (Tough on Tobacco) and Vinayak Pol (Medusa) - as its faculty. Call 9320434299 for details.

Other independent music teachers across the city include guitarist Chandresh Kudwa (Dream Out Loud, the guitarthing@gmail.com). For non-music courses, places such as Hobby Ideas offer one to two hour workshops for various art and crafts including decoupage, candle-making, miniature quilling, mosaic art, aero modeling and origami.

The more serious lot can even sign up for a four-month course in Ceramics and Pottery at the LS Raheja College of Art in Worli.
