Vasai: Around 15 railway commuters were injured on Tuesday after a concrete slab over a drain outside Vasai Railway station caved in.


The incident happened at morning at around 9.30am on platform number 1 at Vasai railway station which resulted in commuters falling into a gutter following a stampede due to peak hour rush. The injured were admitted to the local hospital.


More chaos ensured as Western Railway services were badly hit because of the derailment at Lower Parel.


Railway and civic officers were rushed to the spot.
