In a shocking incident involving the rape of a minor girl, a sonography test on a 16-year-old Palghar-based girl has revealed that she had been raped and is almost eight months pregnant now. Her parents said that the girl, a Std IX student, had been sexually assaulted by four youths, including two minor boys.
All four accused were arrested after an FIR was registered against them in Palghar police station. The survivor, along with her parents, lives next to Palghar railway station. Both her parents are daily wage labourers.

The arrested accused had raped the minor at different locations in Palghar, including forests, after threatening her by saying they would kill her and her elder sister if she did not co-operate with them.

According to Palghar police station sources, “The incident came to light on Sunday when the victim complained of a severe stomach ache and her family took her for a medical check-up, where she was found to be almost eight months pregnant during the sonography that was done in a private hospital in Palghar.” Her parents then submitted a complaint to the police and subsequently, the girl was admitted to a hospital.

In her statement to Palghar police, the survivor said that all the arrested accused had been raping her for the past year; all four raped her one by one at different locations in Palghar. She kept mum for a long while because they had threatened to kill her elder sister as well, if she revealed anything to anyone.
Palghar Police said “When we asked the survivor’s mother about her pregnancy, she said that whenever she asked her daughter about the belly she would say that there might be some problem in her stomach, but she never said anything about the rape.
On Sunday when the victim’s mother took her to hospital, it was revealed that she was pregnant for almost eight months. We have arrested all four alleged accused, including two minors.”
