A 17-year-old boy drowned in a PCMC-run swimming pool on Bhau Patil Road in Bopodi after suffering convulsions last afternoon
The deceased was identified as Akash Chavan, a resident of Kamble Wasti in Bopodi. “The youth had gone to the PCMC-run swimming pool with two friends and suffered a convulsion and drowned. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival,” Police Inspector (Crime), Nishikant Bhujbal of the Khadaki police station said.
According to the police, the victim had been suffering from the condition for several years.
