In his application, Advocate Wahab Khan requested the court to include Shaziya Gilani and Tahawwur Rana as co-accused in the ongoing trial. He stated that Gilani should be tried because she congratulated Headley after the attack. Also, she suppressed information instead of informing the police after Headley confessed to her about the crime.
Seeking trial against Rana, Khan referred to Headley’s earlier deposition in which he had mentioned about informing Rana about the conspiracy. Khan said instead of discouraging Headley, Rana helped him secure an Indian visa and provided financial assistance.
While the application will come up for hearing today, Headley’s cross-examination has been scheduled from March 22 to 25.
