Bhosari police have identified the deceased person as Amol Prabhakar Murme (29), a residing of Sai Chowk, Navi Sangvi who is a native of Umarga in Usmanabad district. Police believe that Murme may have been murdered and then hung on the tree.

Deputy Commissioner of police, Shahaji Umap, said, “Local residents alerted the police control room about a body hanging on a tree behind Sukhwani Lawns near the railway track at Dapodi. When police reached the spot, they found the deceased’s hand and legs tied and a tape stuck to his mouth. A bag was also found lying nearby wherein a note, medical report and some documents pertaining to a company were found.”

From these documents, the victim’s identity was established and it also came to light that Murme was working with a Mumbai-based pharmaceutical firm as a business officer at its Pune branch. The note found in the bag stated that he was in a relationship with a girl, and she was five-months pregnant, but they were not married. u00a0
