Begusarai: Three guests of a wedding party were crushed to death and 10 injured when a pick-up van veered into a marriage venue after the driver lost control of the vehicle in Bihar's Begusarai district.
Bachhwara police station SHO Arvind Kumar said the vehicle suddenly rammed into the function venue at Ranigaon village on NH 28 late last night and knocked down the guests, killing three and injuring 10.

The deceased have been identified as Vinay Kumar Yadav (48), Mohan Mahto (40) and Udgar Mahto (45), the SHO said. Yadav and Mohan were residents of Begusarai district while Udgar hailed from Samastipur district. The victims had come to Ranigaon village to participate in the marriage function of daughter of one Jitan Mahto of the village, the SHO said.
The driver of the mini van was severely thrashed by local people and he was also under treatment at the nearby Primary Health Centre (PHC) apart from the 10 injured, he said.
