One day, while herding, Evans and his two sons chance upon outlaw Ben Wade (Crowe) and his gang, who use Evans' cattle as a road block to ambush an armored stagecoach. 
Wade's later caught in Bisbee, Arizona and Evans finds himself one of the escorts who will take Wade to the 3:10 to Yuma train in Contention for the reward of $200.
Eventually Wade kills everyone except Evans who's saved by the surprise arrival of his son. Contention is a long, long way off and before that Evans has to contend with (pardon the pun) more guards, Apache Indians, pursuits by Wade's gang and Wade himself. Will they reach Contention in time?
What's hot: This is as macho as it gets. Crowe has rarely ever played the bad guy, but when he does, the performance stands out. Bale, as always, is impressive in his recent choice of roles as a troubled soul. The film is ably helmed by Mangold, who doesn't really divert much from the original but rather gives it a send-up, a much slicker, tighter one at that.
What's not: How much does a father have to do, to prove that he's a man in the eyes of his sons? Doesn't really offer anything new. And this movie should've been out on DVD in India by now!

What to do: Crowe and Bale are the only reasons to watch this dated Western remake. In any case, it has come to India two years too late.
