Traffic constable, Santosh Jagdale was one of the first policemen to reach the Opera House, minutes after the blast took place. His heroic efforts helped rescue over 40 victims.

Jagdale, who is posted at the Kalbadevi traffic police chowkie, helped more than 30 victims get to the hospital.

The brave cop reached the blast site within minutes, to help victims

Jagdale was on duty at the Portuguese Church traffic signal, when the blasts struck. He said, "I rushed on my motorcycle with my partner Narayan Anubhave.

At the site, I saw several severed bodies lying on the ground. Even though I was extremely scared, I had to do my duty.

All around me I could only see blood, smoke and charred bodies. I called some of the locals, asking them to hail all the cabs in the area, which could ferry victims to hospitals."

Narayan regulated traffic to ease the passage of the cabs.

Jagdale added, "I then made calls to the control room for ambulances, which reached the spot in ten minutes. I dispatched around 40 people from Opera House," added Jagdale.

He added, "I am still haunted by the image of the mutilated bodies. I cannot sleep at night. But I must report to work everyday."
