Around 400 parents of kids studying at Millennium National School have joined hands to mark their protest against the school management for proposing a fee hike for senior KG by a whopping 129 per cent. Mahaparents, an organisation formed by protesting parents, plans to start an agitation against the school’s pronouncement from March 8.

“The annual fee for nursery would be increased from Rs 32,000 to 92,000. Likewise, the senior KG fee would be been hiked from Rs 27,500 to Rs 62,490. How can a school announce such a colossal hike in the free and expect parents to pay it before April,” asked a parent.
“The school has breached the Capitation Fee Act by proposing such a hike, and that too without taking parents into confidence. We have approached the state education director and deputy education director, however no government body has initiated any action against the school,” lamented Ajay Sathe, member of Mahaparents.
“The school didn’t even conduct Parents Teachers’ Association (PTA) elections in presence of government official and deliberately overlooked parents who were opposing the hike,”alleged Dilipsingh Vishkarma, another member of Mahaparents.
Despite repeated attempts, Arpita Karkare, the director of Millennium National School remained unavailable for comment.u00a0
