A 45-year-old man allegedly raped his daughter's 17-year-old friend on Thursday morning
The accused was caught red handed by a security guard at Powai garden and was handed over to the Vikhroli-Park Site police station. The incident occurred at around 9 am at Powai garden near Powai lake. The accused identified as Ramroop Ramdev Pasi is a painter and lives in Park Site. According to police officials, Pasi’s 17-year-old daughter was missing since a week. The victim was his daughter’s close friend.
On Thursday morning Pasi called the victim to enquire about his daughter, but instead took her to Powai garden, where he raped her. The garden’s security guard, who witnessed the incident, caught him and handed Pasi over to the Powai police station, along with the victim. Later, Powai police handed them over to the Vikhroli-Park Site police station as the incident had occurred in their jurisdiction. “We have arrested the accused on charges of rape,” said officer Shahaji Rajeshirke.u00a0
