"For the first SSAF, we called for entries from around the world and picked the best," says Jidnyesh Mhatre, Festival Director and video and film editor.

With 425 entries from 25 countries, including an award-winning entry by an eight year-old Brit, you can watch 50 shorts (from one to seven-and-a-half minutes long), handpicked by industry professionals.

Though, it's a pity that 70% of the movies are international, Mhatre assures us that Indian entries are brilliant in concept and execution.

"We want to break the general perception that animation is restricted to Disney, 2-D and 3-D movies. We've also emphasised on the concept, than its execution," says Mhatre.

You can also attend two workshops Indian Folk Art in Animation and How to make a Professional Animation Portfolio a seminar and the awards function to honour winners in 12 categories.

World-famous for their products, the work is individualistic and their pieces exude an aura of wholesomeness, often difficult to find in much of today's modern minimalist artifacts.

Emilia's work is inspired by nature, and crafted in sterling silver, onyx and alabaster, while Wolmar specialises in hollow-ware; his trays, vases and pitchers are exquisite, with intricate design and detail.
