Incidents emerge from across the city with an 8-year-old being the youngest victim
In 48 hours, five cases of molestation were registered at various police stations in the city. The incidents took place in Sahakarnagar, Sangavi, Warje-Malwadi, Koregaon Park and Khadaki police station jurisdictions.
In the first case, a 40-year-old Pravin Bhalake was arrested by Sahakarnagar police for allegedly molesting a 22-year-old married woman, who was sleeping on the terrace of a building.

“The accused, who is the resident of the same building went to the terrace at around 4 am on Sunday and molested the complainant, who was sleeping there,” said PSI AV Tekale.u00a0He said that they have arrested the suspect after the woman lodged a complaint against him under section 354 (molestation) of IPC.
The second incident took place in Sangavi on Saturday night when two people allegedly molested a 30-year-old woman and beat up her husband following a dispute over money.u00a0“The suspects Ramesh Chaudhari (26) and Gamanaram Chaudhari (30) had gone to recover their money from the complainant’s husband. They allegedly molested her when the dispute turned ugly and even beat up her husband,” said police inspector Shantaram Tayde.
In the third incident, a-19-year-old girl registered a complaint against a 34-year old man, who allegedly outraged her modesty on the terrace of their building in Warje on Saturday night.
“The suspect, Amar Kandhare, who saw the complainant alone on the terrace went and allegedly took advantage of her. However, the scared girl ran away from the spot and narrated the incident to her mother,” said PSI CS Shelar of Warje Malwadi police station.
In the fourth incident, the Koregaon Park police station arrested a 19-year old watchman of a housing society for allegedly molesting a 22-year-old woman on Friday night.u00a0“The suspect Ajaykumar Pandey who works as a watchman at a housing society near Atur Park in Koregaon Park, chased the woman and outraged her modesty on Friday night at around 8 pm,” said police inspector, Shivaji Kamble.u00a0The fifth incident of molestation took place in the jurisdiction of Khadaki police station.
The officers of the police station arrested 48-year-old Sanjay Prasadsingh for allegedly molesting an eight-year-old girl. Police said that the incident had taken place some 20 days ago, but there was delay in registering the case.
