A 52-year-old constable has been arrested by Pune city police for allegedly misusing powers of the police allowances and Daily allownances and cheated Pune city police tune to Rs 18.40 lakh.
The arrested constable has been identified as Ashok Tukaram Kudale (52), Kalewadi. The has been booked by Chaturshringi police under relevant section of Indian Penal Code comprises of cheating (420), criminal breach of trust (406). After the misappropriation an inquiry was set up against the constable and after the conclusion on Thursday late night a complaint was registered by Sunita Kochare (50).

Inspector Ravindra Sawant in-charge of Chaturshringi police station said, ''Constable Kudale was appointed as clerk and was in-charge of additional Commissioner of police northern zone of Pune city police from.Auguat 16, 2011 to November 11, 2014. He job was to gathered the information about the travel allowances, daily allowance, food and other allowances of police officer and constables who were on duty. Later after amount is dispatched with State bank of India's treasurer branch by government. He had to bifurcated the amount and dispatch to the concern policemen.''
He went on, ''in 2014 complainant took the charge of it and when policemen demanded and inquired about their TA, DA allowances she verified it with bank and was in shock that the amount was already withdrawn from such account and was no transaction has took place. An inquiry was set up and during audit it was notice that constable Kochare misused the amount of Rs 18, 40,779 for personal benefit.''
He added, '' we are probing the case and we suspect some other policemen involvement too. During introgration picture will be clear.''
