A senior citizen who lost his home following a court battle, decided to vent his frustration on the police and allegedly abused a woman constable during a phone altercation. The Azad Maidan police arrested Aizak Anthony D'Cruz (65), a resident of Marol in Andheri, for the crime.

According to police, D'Cruz and his younger brother Johny used to live in a disputed property in Marol. However, the siblings were recently left homeless after they lost the case and their property.

Soon after, Aizak, who is a motor winder by profession, also lost his vision. "Since then, Aizak has been knocking on the doors of several government offices for help," said a police officer from the Azad Maidan police station, adding that Aizak felt that injustice was meted out to him.

He wanted to file a complaint with the police, and had been making repeated phone calls to the police control room. But things went wrong on the night of March 30 and he ended up abusing constable Jyoti Shinde, who was on night duty, on the phone.

"He abused her several times the same night. Following Shinde's complaint, he was booked under Sections 504, 507 and 509 of IPC," said the police officer.

The police traced him through his IMEI number and address that was given to the mobile service provider. He is now under judicial custody.
