New Delhi: Congress leader Kamal Nath today attacked Shiv Sena over an alleged incident of forcing a Muslim to eat a chapati to break his Ramzan fast, saying it shows their mindset.

"We all know that fast is going on. It is not question about complaining about the food. He was forced to eat when the fast is going on. This demonstrates their mind set. This demonstrates their thinking. Now, this has taken a turn like this, they are obviously trying to go into a denial mode," he told reporters outside Parliament House.

Reports of Shiv Sena MPs, apparently angry over not being served Maharashtra food, allegedly forcing a Muslim worker at Maharashtra Sadan here to eat a chapati to break his Ramzan fast today created uproar in both Houses of Parliament.

To another query on whether former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is being cornered in the controversy over appointment of a judge in the Madras High Court, Nath said that the Supreme Court was the final deciding authority on who should be appointed.

"In the end, the final decision rested with the Supreme Court, with the collegium of the Supreme Court on who should be appointed. Everybody and anybody can give suggestions in this regard....But, the collegium of the Supreme Court cannot deny it was a fact that it was the ultimate deciding authority," he said
