Fake job offer scam: MMRDA warns people about fake recruitment ads for Metro

BEWARE! If you have applied for a job in Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) for various technical and administrative posts and have received an appointment letter demanding some deposit, do not make the payment as you might fall prey to a racket looking to dupe the applicants.

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) on Tuesday cautioned one and all about the fake advertisements asking for applications from candidates for various technical and administrative posts in the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC).

MMRDA has found that a few 'applicants' have respond to these advertisements and even received ‘Appointment Letters’ demanding deposit amount be made. The appointment letters issued to candidates bear website www.mumbaimetrorecruitment.in, which is not an authorised website.

All MMRDA and MMRC advertisements display Head office address as MMRDA Building, 8th floor, Bandra-Kurla Complex, Bandra (East), Mumbai – 400 051 with Landline +91-22-26594000, Fax +91-22-26591264 and website www.mmrda.maharashtra.gov.in

"The MMRDA and MMRC further clarify that no appointment for any posts in MMRC entails any deposit," said Dilip Kawathkar, Joint Project Director (PR), MMRDA

MMRDA's FAKE WEBSITE

It should be noted that a fake website similar to that of MMRDA has been made on which there is a link that states the list of selected candidates. MMRDA has made clear that it’s a fake website. The authorities also plan to take help of the cyber crime department of Mumbai police to find who has made this fake website.
