Ahmednagar (Maha): A complaint of rape has been filed by a minor girl against a 19-year-old youth, who last week was allegedly paraded naked on a donkey as a punishment for having an affair with the girl who belongs to a different caste, police said today.

"The 15-year-old girl filed a complaint of rape against Shubham Bharadia last night. We have booked the youth under section 376 (punishment for rape) of IPC as well as under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POSCO)," Gorakh Gangurde, Police Inspector of Bhingar Camp police station in the city told PTI.

The girl has accused him of repeatedly raping her and threatening to make public the video clip of the act, the PI added. Last Friday, Shubham had been allegedly stripped naked and paraded on a donkey at village Wambori in Ahmednagar district.

The villagers put a garland made of slippers around his neck and also thrashed his family members. "So far 17 persons have been arrested in this connection with this episode," Gangurde said.

According to police, the accused youth was in a relationship with the girl and the villagers were opposing their affair as he was from other caste.
