Indian World Champion wrestler Sushil Kumar was recently announced as India's flag bearer for the London Olympics opening ceremony. CS brings you some more info on the wrestling champ

>> Sushil Kumar was born into a Solanki Jat family and hails from the village Baprola in New Delhi.




>> Some of his achievements include a gold medal in the World Cadet Games in 1998, a gold in the Asian Junior Wrestling Championship in 2000, a bronze medal at the Asian Wrestling Championships in 2003 and a gold medal at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championships.

>> Sushil Kumar created history when he became the first Indian to win a gold medal at FILA 2010 World Wrestling Championships held in Moscow.

>> Apart from regular food, apparently the wrestler’s diet includes three kgs of fresh milk, a bowl of white butter every day, and 10 to 15 kg of almonds a month.

>> Sushil was awarded the Arjuna Award in 2006.

>> Last year, Sushil tied the knot with Savi, his guru Satpal’s daughter

>> Kumar is presently employed by the Indian Railways as an Assistant Commercial Manager.u00a0
