A course that will land you a call centre job

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) plans to offer a BPO diploma course for those who wish to join the call centre industry, along the lines if its six-month diploma in retailing, which was introduced in September last year.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) plans to offer a BPO diploma course for those who wish to join the call centre industry, along the lines if its six-month diploma in retailing, which was introduced in September last year. Admissions for the first BPO diploma batch open on January 15.u00a0

Krishna Bhole, professor, Vaze Kelkar College and co-ordinator of IGNOU study centre in the college said, "Students as well working professionals can opt for the diploma, which will help them land a job in a call centre.
BPOs will also benefit from the course because they won't have to train their candidates after hiring them."

Classes for the BPO diploma have been jointly designed by IGNOU and a BPO, Accenture Services.

Only students who have cleared Std XII and passed a mandatory entrance test will be granted admission for the course. IGNOU is also planning to add two more courses to its list Advance Diploma in Retailing and Bachelors in Business Administration.
