The Rotary Club in the city is organising a Dandiya night on October 15, wherein the famous band Jet Set will be performing. Dr Kotbagi, member of the organising committee said: "We are organising the event for charity purpose and we are expecting an elite crowd of more than 2,500 people."
There will be a live band of 10 members including two male and two female singers who will enthrall the crowd with their live Bollywood music. The feet-tapping music will be played on electronic drums, timbale, keyboards and electric guitar.
The club has also organised food stalls which will serve both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, including pav-bhaji and pulao.
Krishna Sunder Lawns
Krishna Sunder Lawns will be hosting two Dandiya nights on October 15 and 16.
It will be total 'Disco Dandiya' on October 15 with DJs such as Vaggy, Kaz, RT and Sonee taking charge of the console playing Bollywood remixes. The food served will be pure vegetarian with a special Jain counter.
On October 16, the party will be a bit funkier with Idea Rocks India fame winner Lambada Band playing rock dandiya and sufi numbers. The management has also kept a lucky draw where the winner will get gifts such as bikes and laptops. There is also a best-dressed and best dancer competition for men, women and children. A special performance by fire dancers and belly dancers will be held to pump up the energy of the crowd.
