Art2day Gallery is featuring paintings by six young talented artists -- Ajay Deshpande, Dinkar Jadhav, Devidas Dharmadhikari, Suresh Gulage, Suresh Gosavi and Ram Thorat. The exhibition titled 6 Sense includes diverse themes.
Buddha painting by artist Ram Thorat
Artist Ajay Deshpande's figurative style is clearly seen in his paintings of the goat. Deshpande said that the idea of incorporating the goat in his painting came when he observed the animal's features and found it fascinating.
"People, nowadays, are aware and therefore they just don't look at the painting. Instead they try to see and understand the artist's vision behind the painting."
Another artist who has incorporated animal motifs in his paintings is Dinkar Jadhav. Dinkar chose to paint the horse on canvas. When quizzed about his inspiration, he said, "It's an energetic horse which represents a contemporary style of art.

Painting a horse in motion gives the paintings a new perspective." He works with charcoal and uses a knife to add texture to his paintings.

It is a sought-after series and it will be showcased in the city for the first time. Suresh Gulage, who is known for his typical graphic style of painting, will display his series of houses and cityscapes.
