The fashionistas and the glamour industry have always vouched for fitness. Gitanjali's Tour de India Fashion Week 2011, in association with Mumbai Cyclothon, brought this point home with a spectacular show. Spread over two days, the first show on Sunday saw a host of socialites, stars and celebs vying for seats to witness the show, along with Mumbai Pradesh Congress Committee president Kripashankar Singh, Mehul Choksi, CMD, Gitanjali Group and Dr Akil Khan, CMD, ID Sports.

The highlight of the event was the unveiling of ace designer Archana Kochhar's spectacular range 'Flourescence.' The collection beautifully complemented the classic contours of jewellery from Nizam, an exotic brand from luxury jewellery store Giantti. Archana's range was a complete Indian extravaganzau00a0-- anarkalis, sangeet sarees, fun salwar suits and tunics in a fluid range of vibrant shades of shocking pink, fanta orange, ink blue, lime and also a dirty yellow along with other high contrast colours. And the Nizam piecesu00a0-- classic kundan meena work with uncut polki diamonds, were a perfect complement, especially on the stunning showstopper Sayali Bhagat.

On a slightly different note, the presentation by Nisha Sagar was a free flowing creation boasting of western dresses and gowns that evoked earthy visions of nature with its shades of greens, yellow and oranges. Adding a dazzle to the garments was the sparkle of diamonds, as the models who sashayed down the ramp were adorned in some exquisite creations from Nakshatra, and a range of striking watches from brands like Morellato, Chronotech and others. It was indeed a spell-binding show with choicest designs and majestic jewellery, suited for royalty, on display.
