u00a0“Talaash is basically a suspense drama, but it is not just that. It has a very emotional storyline in it. The story is connected to that stage of our lives when we lose someone very dear or when we know that we will lose someone. Everybody has to go someday. So, we have to digest this very reality of life. This is the main aspect of this film’s story,” said Khan.

The film revolves around Khan, who portrays the character of a cop, romancing Mukherjee, who plays his housewife and Kapoor, who plays the character of a prostitute. They get entangled in a mystery that links their lives in unexpected ways.u00a0The music of the film has been composed by Ram Sampath while legendary Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar has penned the lyrics of the film.

On being asked as to why realistic cinema was a rarity in Bollywood, Khan said only those moves will be made which people love.u00a0“Normally, people watch films for entertainment, people want entertainment. So that is why people don’t really take to very realistic cinema. If people start appreciating films which are close to reality then those kinds of films will be made,” said Khan.

Incidentally, Khan is playing the lead opposite Mukherjee for the third time after the grand success of their previous films ''Ghulam'' in 1998 and ''The Rising: Ballad of Mangal Pandey'' in 2005, whilst it would be his second venture with Kapoor, after the biggest record hit at the box office ''3 Idiots'' in 2009. u00a0Khan was also seen distributing free tickets of his movie to the audience during the promotional event.
