Raj Babbar wants to cast his betas in Trishul-inspired flick

Raj Babbar plans to produce a film with a plot inspired by Yash Chopra's Trishul. And rope in sons Aarya and Pratik for the project.

The catch? Despite numerous offers, the half-brothers have avoided being part of a film that casts them as siblings.

Work in progress

A source reveals, "Raj has already commissioned writers to start work. Even though Pratik has had only one release (in Jaane Tu ufffd Ya Jaane Na), his family believes he deserves a film that does justice to his talent.

Though his sons aren't in touch, they recently caught up at a social event where the elder brother brought up the subject.

A source shooting with Aarya in Poland says, "He's quite excited with the prospect of working with his bro and playing a negative role."

Babbar Sr confirms, "I have something in mind like Trishul with a certain twist to suit both my sons. Pratik plays the protagonist and Aarya the antagonist."

What's Trishul about?

Raj Kumar Gupta (Sanjeev Kumar) is in love with Shanti (Waheeda Rehman) but dumps her when he gets the chance to marry a wealthy heiress and head a huge construction firm.

Without Raj's knowledge, Shanti gives birth to Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan) whose only aim is to avenge the wrong done to his mother.

He builds his own construction firm determined to ruin his dad's firm and his relations with his legitimate son Shekhar (Shashi Kapoor) and daughter Kusum (Poonam Dhillon).
