Abey Kuruvilla is Mumbai's chief selector
The the Mumbai Cricket Association's (MCA) Cricket Improvement Committee (CIC) headed by Nari Contractor yesterday appointed Abey Kuruvilla as senior selection committee chairman
The former India pacer will take over from former Mumbai captain Milind Rege, who will continue to be a part of the selection panel. Rege refused to comment on the CIC’s decision to replace him as chairman.
“CIC have appointed Abey Kuruvilla as the chairman of the senior selection committee,” joint MCA secretary Dr PV Shetty confirmed to MiD DAY.
Deepak Jadhav and Raju Sutar are the new inclusions in the senior selection committee in place of Pradeep Kasliwal, who was recently appointed Director of Coaching at BKC, and Abdul Ismail, who completed his four-year term. Meanwhile, an MCA source revealed that the Ranji team’s support staff were under the scanner, but survived the axe due to a shortage of time for new appointments to take place.
