The actor has teamed up with his director buddy, Navdeep Singh, to make a political thriller based in Canada.
The film is supposed to be a sequel to Dibakar Banerjee’s recent film that starred Abhay and Emraan Hashmi. According to sources Abhay did not turn to Dibakar for his production venture, as he felt the director gave more prominence to Emraan during the promotions of their recent film.
Abhay had earlier planned to produce a film called Basra which dealt with drugs and human trafficking. It was to feature Nikhil Dwivedi and him with Navdeep Singh as director. But the project never took off and was ultimately shelved.
