Abhishek Bachchan has been ruled out of action for a month. The actor had been experiencing severe back pain which has now been diagnosed as a slipped disc. He has been advised complete rest.

Says a source, “Due to his Pro Kabaddi league commitments earlier this year, he had been travelling extensively, leading to a lot of discomfort. He had been popping painkillers, but after his condition worsened, tests proved that he has a slipped disc.”


Bachchan Jr was last spotted in public on March 22 during an event at his daughter Aaradhya’s play school in the suburbs.

On March 19, he was seen with his father Amitabh Bachchan and other celebrities at the India-Pakistan T20 match in Kolkata. After the match, Abhishek took on Twitter trolls who referred to him as the least known celebrity in the stadium.

Four days before that, he had flown into Dubai for a charity gala.

A shoot schedule of his upcoming film, 'Housefull 3', was held a fortnight ago at Filmistan Studios in Goregaon. The 40-year-old actor gave a hint of his medical condition recently when he tweeted that he was “flat out.”

“The constant travel took a toll on him and aggravated his pain,” adds the source.
