Lekha Washington tells MiD DAY as she breezed through town last evening
What brought to you Bangalore?
I came here to sign a film. But it's not yet finalised as it depends on the script.
Before coming here, you were in Hyderabad shooting for a Telugu film. What's the film about?
This is my second Telugu film, the first being Vedam, which was critically acclaimed. In this film, I play the female lead. The character has shades of grey which made me take up the film.
Do you prefer bollywood to films in the south?
Right now acting is the main motive, so be it bollywood or south Indian films, I want to be associated with films with good scripts that would exploit my acting skills.
Peter Gaya Kaam Se, your film with Rajeev Khandelwal, hasn't released despite being completed a year and a half ago.
The entire crew is waiting for the release. But due to some unavoidable circumstances, it's being delayed. I am just waiting for it to be released in the right way and at the right time.
At the moment I am concentrating on my other hobby: sculpting. I will exhibit my works shortly. But acting will not take a back seat because I am always open to movies of any genre with a good script.
What's your attitude towards life?
I have a lust for life, which is everyday I wake up with new hopes and wishing to do something new.
