Sadiq also edged Parker, who led Scotland's attack with two for 72, to wicketkeeper Colin Smith and Afghanistan captain Nawroz Mangal fell to Iqbal for 29 after adding 68 with Stanikzai.

Gordon Drummond had Mohammad Nabi lbw to leave Afghanistan 254 for five.

But Stanikzai and Shenwari shared an unbroken stand of 95, the latter reaching 50 not out shortly before stumps.
