The party distributed pamphlets to shopkeepers at Laxmi Road and Tulshi Baug
Shiv Sena, which had to settle for a mere 15 seats in the civic body last time, is now keen on following the footsteps of their counterpart Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). So, following the successful banning of lingerie-clad mannequins in Mumbai, the city Sena workers took to the streets yesterday and distributed pamphlets urging the shopkeepers here to do the same.

Pamphlets were distributed to shopkeepers at Laxmi Road and Tulshi Baug that had mannequins in skimpy clothes yesterday.
Following passing of the proposal regarding the ban in Mumbai, Ashok Harnawal, Sena group leader in PMC, has made up his mind to table this proposal in the house.
BMC, on May 16, had unanimously passed a proposal to ban lingerie-clad mannequins that was mooted by Ritu Tawade, BJP corporator from Ghatkopar, on April 26.
“We appealed to the shopkeepers to stop displaying such mannequins. Such displays give ideas to perverts who could view them as sex objects and get provoked. But, the shopkeepers display such provocative mannequins to attract customers,” said Rajendra Shinde, deputy city president of Sena. He, however, added that shopkeepers in Tulshi Baug gave a positive response to the party’s appeal and promised to keep the mannequins inside their shops.u00a0
