The woman, who used to work for the 37-year-old’s real estate firm after she quit the airline, said he committed the crimes after promising to marry her
A real estate broker allegedly raped a 29-year-old former air hostess, she claimed, constantly over the course of eight months after promising her that he’d marry her. According to the complainant, the accused had even posted obscene images of her on a social networking site.
According to police officials, the wanted accused has been identified as Hemraj Tejuja (37), who allegedly committed the crimes from June 2013 till February 2014. He is a resident of Desai Road in Malabar Hill, and the complainant worked in the sales department of Tejuja’s real estate firm.
An officer from Cuffe Parade police station said after requesting anonymity, “The first incident of rape happened in Goa, while later on it started occurring in our jurisdiction, because of which the complaint has been registered in Cuffe Parade.
The complainant also claims the accused posted obscene photos of her on a social networking website.” The complainant earlier worked as an airhostess with a leading carrier but, after a disagreement, joined Tejuja’s realty firm.
“The woman also claims that the accused assaulted her on many occasions and threatened her not to speak of the assaults to anyone,” added the officer. Senior Inspector Sharad Barde from Cuffe Parade police station said, “The accused has been booked under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code along with Section 66 of the Information Technology Act.
The inquiry is under way on the basis of the facts submitted by the victim, and the accused is yet to be arrested.” The cops said the complainant had earlier lodged a case of molestation while the accused had lodged a case of trespassing against her.
