Amid rumours of a possible lock-down of Air India services, airport ground staff continued to receive passengers and in some cases even checked in the baggage before cancelling the flight at the last minute.

Passengers on connecting domestic flights were also made to check-in their luggage, and after several hours of delay were informed of the cancellation of AI flights.
"Being a government company they should have taken the necessary step to avoid inconvenience to the passengers," said Chetan Shah, a bank employee, scheduled to fly to Ahmedabad.
"They are saying that the flight is on time, but are not allowing us to check in. The staff has been fooling us for hours," he added.
Meanwhile, AI executive director Jitendra Bhargava was unavailable for comment.
