Kriarj Productions recently announced their project, 'Rustom', in collaboration with Zee Studios. The Akshay Kumar-starrer will be creatively steered by filmmaker Neeraj Pandey.
Plans are on to announce another film that will also be in collaboration with Zee Studios. Kriarj also has three other films lined up. Arjun N Kapoor, co-founder of the company, says, "Early in my career, I have got an opportunity to work with Akshay Sir. It is a dream start. His commitment to his work and films is legendary and that is exactly what I would like to emulate in my journey in the industry." He adds, "Akshay Sir is one of those rare gems who have made a place for themselves even though he is from a non-film background. In this competitive and tough environment of Hindi films, he has remained in the top rung consistently for a long time and this is what I admire in him."
'Rustom' will be directed by Tinu Desai. He might be making his directorial debut, but he has a vast experience in filmmaking. The story that Tinu has managed to etch out is gripping and will keep the audience hooked. The film is being co-produced by Friday Filmworks which is Neeraj Pandey and Shital Bhatia’s film company.
Shital Bhatia, partner Friday Filmworks says, "Our focus has always been on high content-driven commercial cinema, especially in the thriller space, a fact well borne out by our filmography. Rustom fits perfectly with this focus of ours and, more importantly, presents us with one more opportunity to work with Akshay Kumar, someone who we really enjoy working with and have some of our biggest hits with.
Akash Chawla, Zee Studios business head, says, "We are happy and pleased to associate with Akshay Kumar, Friday Filmworks and Kriarj Entertainment. We look forward to making 2016 Independence Day weekend a cinematic treat for movie lovers with 'Rustom'."
