Akshay Kumar has extended a helping hand to victims of flood-hit Chennai by donating Rs 1 crore for relief work. The actor called his buddy filmmaker, Priyadarshan, who asked him to contact Suhasini Mani Ratnam.
Following Suhasini's suggestion, the star donated the money to the Bhoomika Trust. The trust has been preparing and distributing food items since the rains wreaked havoc in the region.
Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan and his Dilwale co-stars contributed the same amount towards relief work in Chennai.
