While Vipul Shah celebrates his birthday today, Akshay Kumar has a gift to present him for the occasion. The producer and the actor are joining hands for the sequel of their previous hit Namastey London and Akki will be signing on the dotted line today. After doing six films together in the last 12 years, this film will be their seventh project together.
While the original film established Akshay and Katrina Kaif as one of the most sought after pairs in Bollywood, the leading lady for the sequel is yet to be finalised.
Shah says, “We had been planning the film from a long time. We had been waiting for the right script. A couple of days back I read the script to Akshay and he loved it. In fact, he said he would sign the film on my birthday. What started as a joke is now true.”
The producer adds that currently he is busy with his upcoming remake of South hit Thupakki and work on the sequel, including deciding on the leading lady, will begin after they wrap up the existing project.
While Himesh Reshammiya gave music to the earlier film, Shah hopes he will also be part of the sequel. “Of course, Himesh has to be the music director and I will meet Akshay and speak to him but all that is yet to be finalised.”
