Alia Bhatt, Yami Gautam apalled at inhuman act against animals

Actress Alia Bhatt and Yami Gautam condemned the horrendous act of setting an elephant calf on fire by a mob in West Bengal. They were shocked to learn about this incident

Recently a horrific incident took place where an elephant calf was set on fire in West Bengal by a mob. When actress Pooja Bhatt, Alia Bhatt and Yami Gautam learned about the incident, they, too got disturbed at this inhuman act against the animal. A lot of people other people too lost their calm and voiced their opinions about how perturbed they were about the same.

Actress-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt shared about the horrendous act on Twitter and wrote, "Worship Lord Ganesh do we? 'Hell is Here':Pic of elephant calf set on fire by mob in West Bengal wins top award (sic)."


Seeing sister Pooja Bhatt's tweet, Alia Bhatt, who was rather feeling 'sick' and 'disgusted', said, "Can’t believe it!!!!! What the hell is wrong with people? Worship them when you want and burn them when you want! Sick!!!!!!" 

As soon as Yami learnt about it, on a humanitarian note, she immediately took to social media to raise her displeasure regarding the horrific incident. Yami raises her voice against infringement and harming animals. She was 'appalled' and stated, "APPALLED ..hope a stringent action is taken against such sick minds..it’s disturbing (sic)."

Both Alia Bhatt and Yami Gautam have been very vocal about such inhuman acts against animals. During Diwali, Alia had shared a video on her Instagram account convincing people to stop bursting firecrackers, as it harms the animals. "This Diwali, I choose #PoochOverPataka. Do you?” It shows cats and dogs being scared of sound created by crackers. In the video, she made an appeal to avoid firecrackers. “Pooch, or patakha? Diwali is almost here and it is a beautiful festival of lights, not noise. And maybe you are fine with it but animals can’t bear it. So, this Diwali I am choosing pooch over patakha and I want you guys to do the same. All you have to do is send us a selfie with your little pooch and show us that you are willing to let go of the unnecessary noise pollution by ditching the patakha," said Alia. The initiative was a huge hit, as other celebrities, too, joined the initiative and helped her in spreading the awareness.
