All is not lost for Delhi Daredevils

Viru Viru dangerous!
Skipper Virender Sehwag remains the key man in Delhi Daredevils’ pursuit to reach the Indian Premier League (IPL) final. With 494 runs in 15 matches, Sehwag is in dangerous form.u00a0Sehwag clearly has set the tone for Delhi with his three match-winning knocks (87 not out against Pune Warriors, 73 against Mumbai Indians and 63 against Rajasthan Royals).u00a0It is evident from the fact that Delhi struggle whenever Sehwag fails to fire at the top. Doubtless, a lot is riding on Viru’s shoulder.u00a0

David Warner has ensured Delhi don’t miss big-hitter Kevin Pietersen (305 from eight games) too much. The Aussie opener didn’t take much time to get off the blocks and has quickly garnered 253 runs from seven matches at a strike rate of 169.79 which is much more than that of his skipper Virender Sehwag.

Apart from Morne Morkel, young pace sensation Umesh Yadav has played a significant role, claiming 18 wickets from 16 matches. Young spinners Shahbaz Nadeem (eight wickets) and Pawan Negi (six wickets) too have been impressive.

Morkel makes it happen...
The Purple Cap-holder of u00a0IPL-V with 25 wickets from 15 matches, Morne Morkel is by far the standout performer amongst the Delhi Daredevils bowlers. It is not just the wickets... the South African pacer has also managed to keep the economy rate below 7.5 which is amazing in T20 cricket.u00a0
