The glittering charity gala at a South Mumbai hotel had a good mix of celebrities from different industries in the country. The royal couple, Prince William and Kate Middleton, seemed extremely at home during the event, though earlier the Prince was overheard telling Shilpa Shetty that he finds it too hot here.

Shilpa Shetty, along with her Rajasthan Royals partner Manoj Badale is actively involved with the British Asian Trust, which was hosting the gala for the night. The trust is involved in a lot of causes especially towards orphans in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Shilpa has been associated with the charity since her Big Brother days and she had met the Queen in this regard at that time.

Soon after the performances, the Prince rose to give a speech and he opened with mentioning the unfortunate temple fire in Kerala. Joking that his speech can never match up to the performances that he witnessed, he went on to say how it was a privilege for him to be in India after waiting for so long.
