Allow Pakistani players in Hockey India League: Dhanraj Pillay

Bangalore: Former India captain Dhanraj Pillay yesterday batted for the participation of Pakistani players in Hockey India League and suggested the league authorities to earmark an amount money for setting up academies to develop and improve the quality of the sport in India.

Pillay said Hockey India should have taken permission from the politicians to allow Pakistani players to participate in Hockey India League.

"Hockey India should have taken permission from the politicians to allow Pakistani players to participate in the HIL. I don't think they would have any issues with that," he told PTI here.

Britain beat India 4-3 in Johor Cup

Johor Bahru (Malaysia): India failed to continue their winning momentum, going down to Great Britain 3-4 in their second match of the 5th Sultan of Johor Cup junior hockey tournament here yesterday. India had started their campaign with a convincing win against arch-rivals Pakistan yesterday but today they conceded the initial advantage to go down in the end.
