It takes the audience through his early days as a salesman in Delhi, a struggler in Kolkata and finally, as an accomplished musician in Mumbai. On March 2, watch the Urdu Lal Qile Ka Aakhri Mushaira, where you will come face-to-face with greats of Urdu poetry — Zauq, Ghalib, Momin, Dagh and emperor-poet Bahadur Shah Zafar.
The fest will stage KL Saigal, a Hindi-Urdu play based on the singer-actor’s life
On March 3, witness the Urdu play Ghalib Ke Khat, the first-ever drama on Mirza Ghalib’s letters as they are received, read and reviewed by his wife Umrao Begum, his maid Wafadar and his friends and followers, including his favourite disciple — Munshi Har Gopal Taftah, a legendary but long-forgotten poet of Persia.u00a0The plays feature Tom Alter and have been scripted and directed by Dr M Sayeed Alam.
