Fans of the popular HBO series 'Game of Thrones' would recognise Dotrice's voice, as he recorded audio books for each of George R. R. Martin 'A Song of Ice and Fire' novels.

The late actor also holds the Guinness World Record for the most characters voiced by a single actor in an audio book. In the saga's first novel, he read 223 characters for the audiobook, which is 33 hours long.

Although he was originally meant to play Grand Maester Pycelle, however, he withdrew from the part due to health issues with Julian Glover eventually taking the role. He was also an award-winning actor, taking home the Tony award for best actor in 2000 for his Broadway performance in the 'A Moon for the Misbegotten' revival.

The late actor also played various sci-fi roles such as appearing in 'Space: 1999' and the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off 'Angel.' Dotrice was married to fellow actress Kay Newman until her death in 2007. They had three daughters, Karen, Michele and Yvette, who are all actors.
