Actor Amar Upadhyay, who plays the role of Dharam in 'Saath Nibhana Saathiya', will soon quit the popular soap opera.
"My character is ending in the show. It is sad because I think audience has accepted this jodi of Meera (Tanya Sharma) and Dharam and have started liking them," Amar said in a statement.
However, his departure came as shocking news to the actor.
"Initially I thought they will build the chemistry more amongst the two and when I got to know about this, I was also shocked but it is okay. I trust the makers and I'm sure whatever they are doing is as per the requirement of the script," Amar said.
"I don't know if I will be brought back in the show but for now heavy schedule has taken a toll on my health so for now I'm going to take proper rest which is much required," he added.
'Saath Nibhana Saathiya' is aired on Star Plus.
