Amazon introduced a new family of Kindle Fire tablets, the HDX 7-inch and HDX 8.9-inch, recently in the US. The new Kindle Fire tablets are slimmer and lighter but come with several new software and improvements including a faster processor, 2.2 GHz quad core processor, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, 2GB RAM and a May Day button that brings instant on-device tech support from Amazon’s tech advisors.

According to Amazon.com, the HDX tablets feature new Adreno 330 graphics engine and offer better display — 1920x1200 at 323 ppi for 7-inch and 2560x1600 at 339 ppi for 8.9-inch. They will be available in Wifi as well as 4G LTE versions. When it comes to the latter, we are not sure if it will be available in India. Both HDX tablets also feature front-facing HD cameras, including an 8MP rear camera with LED flash in the 8.9-inch version. The battery, it said, lasts for 11 hours.
The base model — 16 GB international storage with Wifi connectivity — is priced at $229 ('14,500 approx) for HDXu00a07-inch and $379 ('23,900 approx) for HDX 8.9-inch. The two models will also be available in 32GB and 64GB variants.

Lumia 1020 in stores by Oct 11
After a long wait, Nokia India finally unveiled its new camera phone, the Lumia 1020 in Mumbai. The Lumia 1020 boasts of a 41 megapixel sensor, the highest ever seen in a camera phone, and will be available in stores by October 11, this year. The company, however, has not disclosed its price.
The Lumia 1020 features 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, a 1.5 Ghz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and uses 4.5-inch (1280x768) AMOLED screen for display.
It also comes with an optional camera cover to enable better grip. It will be available in three colours — white, yellow and black.u00a0
