Chennai: DMK chief M. Karunanidhi will appear before the Chennai court on January 18 in connection with a criminal defamation charge filed against him by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo J. Jayalalithaa.
Jayalalithaa had last year filed cases against Karunanidhi and the editor of Ananda Vikatan for allegedly publishing defamatory articles against her.
The article, which had appeared in DMK's mouthpiece 'Murasoli' on November 21, was about the AIADMK government's achievement in the last four years.
The article titled 'Manthri-Thanthri' allegedly maligned the reputation of the Chief Minister.
