"What you eat is what you are," wrote 19th century gourmand, Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin. As literal supporters of this theory, we usually make it a point to avoid vegetables. So it was with some degree of trepidation that we entered the Colaba eatery, presciently aware that the newly introduced wraps would have some veggies rolled in. Indeed, the small list met our expectations. Only two non-vegetarian options were listed here, and even these included either salad or assorted veggies.

Our selections, a Chicken Kebab Tofu Tziziki Wrap (Rs 210) and a Cheddar Ratatouille Wrap (Rs 195) appeared at our table within minutes, both served with a small portion of deliciously sinful and beautifully crisp French Fries.

The white-flour pancakes that the meat and veggies were rolled in were superbly soft and fluffy, with just the slightest suggestion of sweetness. The Chicken Kebab filling, teamed with rocket lettuce leaves dressed in light balsamic vinegar, was a genuine testimony to culinary genius.

In a refreshing deviation from the usual Indian tendency to drown the natural flavours of meat with the sort of spice-overdose that sets your mouth aflame, this Kebab was perfectly seasoned to allow you to savour the gorgeous combination of flavours.

Even the Ratatouille Wrap impressed, prepared as it was with a sharp, Farmhouse Cheddar, as opposed to mild American cheese. Its blend of assorted chopped veggies, tossed with sun-dried tomatoes and saut ufffded courgette was a delicious combination.

And if you feel it'll take more than that to get you to include veggies in your diet, you could try the spicy Harrissa Chicken and Alfalfa Wrap (Rs 210), an Israeli wrap with boiled eggs and Tahina (Rs 210), a Falafel wrap with Hummus, Tapenade (a chopped olives' spread) and the Middle Eastern Spice Za'atar (Rs 210), or the wrap that seems inspired by Chinese cuisine. Prepared with stir-fried mushrooms, Pokchoy (also spelt Pok Choi or Bok Choy; this is a Chinese cabbage), tofu and spring greens in a sweet chilli dressing, this one is priced at
Rs 195.
